Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop

This is Meadham Kirchhoff's fourth (count it, fourth) collaboration with Topshop and I decided that to commemorate this momentous occasion I would share my four picks from the collection. The concept is based on a fictional girl band called The Cherrys.

“The [collection's] overall aesthetic was influenced by Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, Kembra Pfahler and glam rock,” Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff said in a statement. “It is an enormous and all encompassing collection which will offer a myriad of choice for any customer to adapt or reject as they see fit.” It's very The Runaways (mainly Cherie Curie) during Cherry Bomb craze meets Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (Pon Pon Pon anyone?) if you ask me - then again you didn't. Each member has what I'd call a "sub collection" featuring pieces that she would wear - that is, if she were real (and I'm kinda bummbed they're not). Without even realizing it, all but one of my picks are from the "Cherry Cherie" sub collection. I dig it. Now, Which Cherry Are You?

striped up: trend alert

As usual, this Fall season has shown us many different prints, from giant, dark florals to plaid frenzy. Lately, it seems the bigger the print, the better the outfit. But if you're the type of person to avoid wearing bolder prints, stripes are a great way to get a toned down version of this hot trend into your closet. Plus there's so many different ways to wear stripes, you'll enjoy it so much it'll be hard to go back to an all solid look. You may even end up in a Bart Simpson print sweater. Gasp.

• You can use one item as your focal point (in this case a shirt) and add a pop of color with your shoes. The color on this shirt adds another pop of color that complements the shoes.
1. Victoria's Secret VS Pencil Low-rise Straight Jeans - $70 at 2. DEMYLEE Striped Alexa Cashmere Sweater - $288 at 3. Aldo Esrotrel - on sale for $30 at  4. Converse All Star Low - $72 at

• Another way to wear stripes is to only wear stripes. A casual dress is the perfect choice for an all-striped piece. Pair with a beanie and minimal accessories for a casual yet trendy look.
1. Hope Jean Dress - $115 at 2. Eugenia Kim Felix Beanie in black - $165 at 3. Acne Brown Leather Cardholder - $110 at

• For those who are bolder (we salute you), try colorful striped outerwear with more simple pieces all in the same color palette (we chose brown for this look). Your look will stand out without being overwhelming.
1. UNIQLO Women Silk Sleeveless Dress - on sale for $40 at 2. Color Stripe Cardigan Sweater - $42 at 3. Sperry Top Sider Suede Convertible Clutch - $125 at 4. Cole Haan Dover Riding Boot - $448

music monday

You know that feeling you get after spending 6 hours discovering new music on your laptop in a dark room, illuminated only by the unnatural light of a laptop screen 3 inches away from your face? That feeling of exhaustion mixed with unending power. The feeling of "Yes, finally, a new playlist to drown out the sounds of early morning traffic and 'friendly banter' from the cubicle over". That's the feeling I got when I first heard The Preatures' "Is This How You Feel?". Fortunately, I didn't have to spend hours clicking through the suggested videos column in YouTube to find this song (I can't be the only person who does this). It was hand delivered (by way of internet, of course) to me via a music playlist website I frequent.

This song is so good, my 5 year old brother joined in on the impromptu dance party that ensued (kid has great taste in music). In songs like "Is This How You Feel?" and "Manic Baby", the sounds of disco-revival are obvious but there is still an unmistakeable psychadelic inspiration (think the Black Angels meets Donna Summers) and I'm more than OK with that. Watch the official video below and try not to break out into your best (dang near coolest) lead singer (ever), Isabella Manfredi, impersonation.

the only coat you will ever need (maybe)

Florals are a strictly spring print, right? WRONG. This year, floral in the winter is the go-to print for "fashion people" (Who are these people? Is there a club? Can I join?) who want to seem avant-garde and the antithesis of everything Meryl Streep hated when she spoke those infamous lines in "The Devil Wears Prada" -

Unlike their springtime counterpart, winter florals are darker. Duh, right? You must be thinking "Is this chick really serious? Of course winter florals will be darker. It's freaking winter". While I bask in the warm glow of stupidity for a moment, check out that breathtaking coat choice up top. Winter florals done so right, it almost seems wrong. Are mere mortals allowed to drape themselves in such wear? Would the gods look down and end humanity for looking more fabulous than they? Forget Obamacare sign-up numbers and logistics, people. These are the real questions that need answering.

If I owned this coat I would probably never wear it. Why? Because I'd spend hours arguing with myself over whether or not I was qualified to be such a bad-a$$ lady. Am I allowed to look so put together when I do things like burp and fall on my face (see video here)? Seeing that the price tag ($1,520) is well out of my current budget, I won't be having this internal dialogue any time soon. Bummer. But if you can afford it I urge you to BUY THIS COAT. And Instagram a couple of pictures of you wearing it so I can live vicariously through you. I promise I won't crop out your face and replace it with my own. Don't be weird.
